Brand Logo–A Show and Tell of My Logo Portfolio!

Brand logos and logo design seem to be a dime a dozen these days. But my passion is excellent graphic arts. I am passionate about helping people create effective brand images that get noticed.

But some of you may be asking, who is this gal anyway and what has she done?

Because just because one says she is an expert doesn’t make her one!

So since the proof is in the pudding, every week on my blog I am going to highlight some of the work I have done in graphic design.

This week I am going to emphasize logos.

What makes my logo design unique?

I approach the design with creativity
I always keep marketing objectives in mind
I thoroughly analyze branding issues
I always communicate a message through my logos that support the brand that is behind the logo
I use graphic design standards
I make sure the logos are workable across many mediums
I make words into images using typography

Now what I’m going to show you today is only a small representation of my work. My file drawers are full of items that I need to scan! Follow my blog and you will see a lot more!

So here are a few examples:

I designed this logo for a building designer:

I designed this for a contest in 2007 and I won!

I designed this for a greeting card and novelty art line:

I designed this for a greeting card line. I made the mountain image through a special process that I invented: shaping torn construction paper into a picture and scanning it. This is an example of my creative ability.

The logo “CloserWalk” was a rebranding project. It was the masthead for the Walk Thru the Bible magazine. I gave these magazines a fresh, updated look. The printer was very impressed when they saw the makeover I had achieved!

I did this logo for a school arts extravaganza event. The logo was used in programs, invitations, t-shirts, and more.

I created this logo for a Christmas craft show.

I designed this logo for an optical sciences company:

I designed this for a book series that is available in ebook format as well as on Amazon.

Business Logo Design–Does Yours Measure Up?

An effective, well-constructed business logo design requires many factors. Does your company logo measure up?

Read on to find out! You may need to conduct some objective research to find out the answers to these questions:

Does your image reflect exactly the essence of who you are and what you do as a business?
Do you use professional graphic design standards in your logo? Is the logo pleasing to the eye as far as composition, balance, color, margins, etc?
Did you use professional typesetting standards for your logo?
Is your logo the correct resolution for the mediums you are using it in?
Does it communicate your message immediately?
Is it appealing to your specific target audience?
Have you used your logo consistently across all mediums?
Does your use of color in the logo enhance the message you want to communicate?
Does your image reflect accurately what your business is about?
Did you avoid overused or cliche symbols?
If you have a photograph of yourself in your logo, is it an appealing one?

If you answered yes to all the above questions, congratulations! You more than likely have a well-constructed logo! But just to make certain, be sure to test this list with some associates who do not know what your business is about. What you think about your logo can be completely disconnected with how others perceive your logo.

And what you think are living up to graphic design standards may not be up to standards at all. Have a professional graphic designer look at your logo and give you an honest assessment.

Graphic Design Portfolio–A Trip Down Memory Lane

In today’s post, I thought I’d give you an idea about the breadth of my creative experience. So here goes:

Here are some that I’ve done:

Ministry Report cover (4-color process) for The Navigators.

An inside page of a ministry report for The Navigators.

I redesigned the covers and inside pages for this magazine.

An ad I designed for the back cover of the Daily Walk magazine.

A custom business card I designed and had printed for a client.

That’s just a few pieces of many that I’ve done in the past 17 plus years! These pieces demonstrate that I am extremely knowledgeable in software programs like Adobe Photoshop and QuarkXPress. I am committed to excellence and approach each design with creativity. Fresh, original designs is the hallmark of my work. Additionally, I know how to build brands that get noticed!
